Trump is “beyond” being an embarrassment. Trump lacks basic self-awareness that people around him experience intense secondhand embarrassment (or vicarious grief). This involves desperate posturing, oversharing, doubling down on blatant falsehoods, or trying way too hard to seem impressive, cool, or relevant.

Trump makes everyone around him feel “beyond” embarrassing which isn’t just an awkward mistake (which everyone makes), but a complete refusal to read the room, acknowledge reality, or show humility.
