The American leader warns countries against buying Iranian oil.

United States President Donald Trump has threatened secondary sanctions against countries that buy oil from Iran.

He published a corresponding statement on the social network Truth Social . According to the American leader, “all purchases of Iranian oil or petrochemical products must be stopped immediately.”

“Any country or person that purchases any amount of oil or petrochemical products from Iran will be immediately subject to secondary sanctions. They will be prohibited from doing business with the United States of America in any way, in any form,” Trump stressed.

It is worth noting that in this way the US president struck one of the key sources of income for Iran against the backdrop of rather difficult relations between Washington and Tehran. In April,  the Financial Times  wrote that Iranian oil exports had reached a six-year high. This provides an increase in the country’s economy by $35 billion per year.
