Trump explained why the US needs Greenland

Volz says the country’s national security is at stake.

Republican Michael Volz , who was appointed national security adviser by newly elected US President Donald Trump, supported his statements about the need to establish control over Greenland.

As reported by Reuters , Volz told reporters that Greenland is important for the national security of the United States of America. “You have Russia, which is trying to become the queen of the Arctic, with more than 60 icebreakers, some of which are nuclear. We have two, and one just caught fire,” he added.

According to the Republican, the situation with control over Greenland is about access to natural resources and “critical” minerals:

“What we’re talking about is that when the polar ice caps melt, the Chinese launch icebreakers and move in there as well. This is oil and gas. This is our national security.”

Trump wants Greenland

Let us recall that the previously elected president called control over Greenland important for the interests of the United States of America.

Denmark responded that Greenland was not for sale. Soon after,  the king changed the coat of arms , adding symbols of Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

Yesterday, Trump said Denmark should give up Greenland . At the same time, he added that he was not ready to rule out the possibility of using military force to achieve his goal.

  1. “What we’re talking about is that when the polar ice caps melt, the Chinese launch icebreakers and move in there as well. This is oil and gas. This is our national security.”

Maybe it’s also Denmark’s national security too.

  2. Greenland IS and STAYS Denmark! Any attempt to seceede it will result into war! I’m ashamed of the LEFTIST occupiers in Copenhagen who suggest that Greenland is autonomous – IT IS NOT! We are talking about Denmarks safety and our territorial connection with Canada.
