Trump didn’t lose, but Putin clearly won, says ex-adviser Bolton

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin achieved much more than White House President Donald Trump during the meeting in Alaska.

As Censor.NET reports , this was stated in an interview with CNN by former advisor to US President Trump, John Bolton.

“Trump got nothing but more meetings. Putin, I think, has come a long way in restoring relations, which I think has always been his main goal,” Bolton noted.

According to him, Putin managed to avoid sanctions and the threat of a ceasefire: “This is far from the end, but I would say that Putin has achieved most of what he wanted. Trump has achieved very little,” Bolton emphasized.

He also added that he noticed the former US president’s condition during the meeting. “It seemed to me that Trump looked very tired there. I mean very tired, not disappointed, but tired,” he emphasized.

As a reminder, on the night of August 16 (Kyiv time), a three-on-three meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin ended in Alaska. The leaders’ talks lasted almost three hours.

Trump was accompanied by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, while Putin was accompanied by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and aide Yuri Ushakov.

Trump plans to call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders after talks with the Russian dictator.
