The US President said he had instructed the Pentagon to prepare for possible action.
US President Donald Trump has not ruled out a military intervention in Nigeria. He reported this in Truth Social .
The White House chief warned that if the Nigerian government “continues to allow the killing of Christians,” the United States may not only stop providing aid to them, but may also take other steps.
“It is entirely possible that (the United States – editor’s note) will invade this now disgraced country with weapons in hand to completely destroy the Islamic terrorists who are committing these terrible atrocities,” Trump wrote.
The American leader said he had instructed the Pentagon to prepare for possible action and advised the Nigerian government to act quickly.
“If we launch an attack, it will be swift, brutal and sweet, just as terrorist bandits attack our dear Christians,” the US president warned.
It is noteworthy that US Defense Secretary Pete Gegseth stated in response to the White House’s post that the department is preparing for action following Trump’s order amid accusations against Nigeria.

Escalation of US-Venezuela Relations: Latest News
UNIAN previously reported that the US is amassing additional forces closer to Venezuela. This prompted Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro to appeal to Russia, Iran, and China for assistance. Notably, 2025 Nobel Peace Prize laureate María Corina Machado stated that she supports a possible “escalation” in US-Venezuela relations , believing it is the last chance to overthrow dictator Nicolás Maduro. Machado is an opposition activist from Venezuela. It is noteworthy that in September and October of this year, the US sank several ships in the Caribbean Sea that were allegedly transporting drugs from Venezuela.
We also reported that Venezuela published a video of its Su-30MK2 fighter jets flying, armed with Kh-31A supersonic anti-ship missiles . Analysts speculate that this was an attempt to frighten the Americans in anticipation of a possible invasion. However, they add that the missile has virtually no chance of hitting American destroyers, cruisers, or the ships escorting them. At the same time, the Kh-31A missile remains dangerous, especially for smaller ships that lack such powerful armament.
