Trump Declines Zelenskyy’s Invite to Kyiv

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited former President Donald Trump to Ukraine on Sunday to see the scale of the war for himself, but Trump respectfully declined in a statement to Newsmax

“I have great respect for President Zelenskyy, but think it would be inappropriate to go to Ukraine at this time,” Trump wrote in a statement responding to Zelenskyy’s invite made on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “The Biden administration is currently dealing with him, and I would not want to create a conflict of interest.”

Zelenskyy is calling on the U.S. to provide more funding to help his forces counter Russia, warning that American soldiers could eventually be pulled into a greater European conflict with Russia if Washington did not step up support.

“If Russia will kill all of us, they will attack NATO countries and you will send your sons and daughters [to fight],” Zelenskyy said told NBC.

President Joe Biden, a Democrat, has pressed Congress to pass a $106 billion supplemental spending bill, with the bulk of the money going to bolster Ukraine’s defenses and the remainder split among Israel, the Indo-Pacific, and border enforcement.

The Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives has instead put forward its own funding plan. It passed a bill last week to provide $14.3 billion in aid to Israel, but did not include any increase in aid for Ukraine.

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer, majority leader of the Democratic-controlled Senate, said he would not bring the House bill to a vote and Biden has vowed to veto it.

In the interview airing on Sunday, Zelenskyy invited Trump, a Republican, to visit Ukraine and see the fallout of the conflict initiated by Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in February 2022.

Trump, who is seeking reelection in 2024 and is the leading candidate for his party’s presidential nomination, has been sharply critical of U.S. support for Kyiv and has said he could end the war in 24 hours if reelected.

“If he can come here, I will need … 24 minutes to explain to President Trump that he can’t manage this war,” Zelenskyy said. “He can’t bring peace because of Putin.”

  1. “If he can come here, I will need … 24 minutes to explain to President Trump that he can’t manage this war,”

With a normal person it would take 5 minutes. With Trump you need to spell it out one syllable at a time.

    • Even spelling it out wouldn’t help for a narcissistic ass wiping scum sucking dick head. Now let me tell you how I really feel

  2. Zelensky should’ve promised him a new XL crayon set.
Anyway, I never expected the orange baboon to come to Ukraine in person. He’s a big, fat coward, and he’s afraid of the truth. He’d have to admit that he’s been wrong all along (if he had any dignity).

        • “sham” – 🤣🤣🤣

          We’ve all seen the evidence.

Traditional conservative and highly respected jurist Judge J. Michael Luttig of the Fourth Circuit recently put it perfectly:

There is not an Attorney General of either party who would not have brought today’s charges against the former president.

He has dared, taunted, provoked, and goaded DOJ to prosecute him from the moment it was learned that he had taken these national security documents.

On any given day for the past 18 months — doubtless up to and including the day before the indictment was returned — the former president could have avoided and prevented this prosecution. He would never have been indicted for taking these documents.

But for whatever reason, he decided that he would rather be indicted and prosecuted.

After a year and a half, he finally succeeded in forcing Jack Smith’s appropriately reluctant hand, having left the Department no choice but to bring these charges lest the former president make a mockery of the Constitution and the Rule of Law.

    • trumpkov wouldn’t go to a cemetery to honor US war dead because it was raining. You think he’d show up in a war zone? 😂😂😂

  3. Trump is facing multiple charges of election fraud. He’s going to be facing jail time soon. With his legal battles growing by the day the only traveling Trump is going to be doing will be to a prison.

  4. Didn’t the asshole describe his own US war heroes as “losers?” It is indisputable that he said:

“Trump has publicly insulted McCain, in particular, by calling him “not a war hero,” and “I like people who weren’t captured, …..”

So he’s not likely to be respectful of Ukrainian war heroes is he?
His claim of having respect for Zel is bogus. Only this year he said on TV that “Putin is going to take all Ukraine.”
You can only imagine what a sociopath like Trump would say at Bucha. In fact he will never go there and never go to Ukraine, because the facts in front of his eyes would force him to retract his groveling comments about fuhrer putler.
Trump remains a mortal threat to Ukraine until he is rejected either by the Republicans or by the electorate in general.
What Zel could have done is invite members of the Trump campaign to attend a Zoom conference, where a historian like Tim Snyder could set out exactly what happened and put it in a historical context.
But even that would be pointless in the case of thicko nazi lovers like MTG, Gaetz, Hawley, Vance, Ram-Ass-Wham-Me etc.
