US President Donald Trump criticized the 60 Minutes program, which Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave an interview to the day before. The US leader threatened CBS News and Paramount for “spreading fake news.”
He announced this on the social network Thruth Social, Censor.NET reports .
He said a multibillion-dollar lawsuit has been filed against 60 Minutes for “fraud committed during the 2024 presidential election.” He noted that in an interview with Kamala Harris, he was mentioned in a “derogatory and defamatory manner.”
“But this weekend’s broadcast exceeded all their intentions. They did not one, but TWO major stories about ‘Trump’, one of which involved Ukraine, which I call a war that would never have happened if the 2020 election had not been rigged, in other words, if I had been President. And the other was Greenland, where our country, which I lead, has been deceived, lied to, and swindled. It is my great honor to sue 60 Minutes, CBS Fake News, and Paramount for their fraudulent, beyond recognition, reporting,” Trump wrote.
The US leader also threatened to lose their license.
“We hope that the Federal Communications Commission, led by its highly respected Chairman Brendan Carr, will impose the maximum fines and penalties, which are substantial, on them for their illegal and unlawful behavior. CBS has gone out of control to unprecedented levels, and they must pay a heavy price for it,” he concluded.
