Waltz noted that over the past week, representatives of the American administration held a number of meetings with European leaders. In particular, he recalled the conversation between US Vice President J.D. Vance and the President of Ukraine, as well as the visit of the US Secretary of the Treasury to Kyiv.
Waltz, however, avoided directly answering the question of why Ukraine is not included in the talks scheduled to take place between Russian and American officials in Saudi Arabia next week.

Not one European leader has said it doesn’t matter what deal Trump and putler come up with, we’ll support Ukraine until putler is defeated. The Europeans allowed Trump to take charge, instead telling him to get back to his border wall and leave this to us, so they can’t complain.
