US President Donald Trump has broken his own record for quickly angering American voters. Three months after his inauguration, his approval rating has fallen by 14 points, a worse result than during his first term as president.
According to YouGov /The Economist, Americans are increasingly critical of Trump’s economic policies, particularly disappointed with his approach to inflation, job creation, and volatile tariff policies that have rattled markets and dampened optimism even among Republicans.
His approval rating has fallen 14 points since he took office, more significant than the five-point drop he has suffered so far during his first term as president.
Since returning to power, Trump has embarked on sweeping changes — downsizing the government, slashing farm aid programs, and imposing tariffs. Such policies, experts say, have already begun to alienate some of his voters, including those who voted for him because of economic disappointment under his predecessor, Joe Biden.
Americans give Trump a net approval rating of minus 7 percentage points on his handling of the economy, compared with positive ratings at this point during his first term. Nearly one in five Trump voters in 2024 said they disapprove of his handling of inflation and prices, while 12% disapprove of his handling of jobs and the economy. Similarly, in early April, data from a University of Michigan consumer survey showed that Republicans are less optimistic about the economy than at any time during Mr. Trump’s first term, except for December 2020, after he lost re-election.
While Trump’s base remains stable — more than 92% of Republicans who voted for him in November still support him — it was the “fluctuating voters and infrequent voters,” many of whom were disappointed with Biden’s economic policies, that carried him to victory in 2024. They are less ideological and can easily change their minds.
According to the Cooperative Election Study, 84% of voters who supported Trump in both 2020 and 2024 were white; 74% identified as conservative, and 72% were over 45.
The new voters he attracted in 2024 were different: 65% were white, only 42% said they were conservative, and only 41% were over 45. If Trump fails to deliver the “economic boom” he promised during the campaign, these voters could easily turn against him.
The biggest declines in support are among young people and Latinos, who played a key role in his recent victory. For example, Trump’s net approval rating among Latino respondents is minus 37 percentage points, and among those under 30, it is minus 25.
Negative signals are also coming from the states that ensured Trump’s victory in 2024: in all six of them (Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin) his rating is now in the “minus.” In Virginia and New Jersey, it is minus 11 and minus 14, respectively.
Republicans are concerned about the alarming changes in voter sentiment, as the loss of trust could affect the 2026 midterm elections for Congress, as well as the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and gubernatorial elections.

After only three months in office, the felon lost 8% of his hardcore supporters. Seeing the huge damage he’s already caused to the US, and how evil he really is, according to his attitude to Ukraine, this number should be more, but this only proves that those 92% are morally bankrupt people.

After only three months in office, the felon has already surpassed Biden to be the country’s worst POTUS ever. Not only that, Trump is the most undemocratic president, the most evil, and the one with the lowest IQ. There are virtually no positive aspects about him or his presidency.
