US President Donald Trump claims that Google rejected his request to rename the Atlantic Ocean in his honor or in honor of the United States.
He said this on October 21 at a rally in South Carolina, The Guardian writes , Censor.NET reports .
Trump’s statement
He said he personally called Google CEO Sundar Pichai to ask if the company could “handle” such an offer.
” I only like two oceans: the Atlantic and the Pacific. I’m not going to put Trump or America on any other ocean but those two. So we seriously considered the Atlantic Ocean, and I called Google Maps, who did a great job with the lake… They still haven’t recovered from the bay incident. I said, ‘Sundar, I’m thinking about the Atlantic Ocean ,'” Trump said.
According to him, Pichai rejected the offer, replying: ” No, no, no. I will not do it this time… The oceans are a different matter, sir. They cover… many countries. Please do not ask us to do this .”
