According to Bloomberg Economics analyst Dina Esfandiari, Saudi Arabia aims to use the visit to demonstrate stability, openness to investment and a new policy of non-conflict in the region. Riyadh also hopes to define the limits of the American role in the Middle East.

Trump will also visit Qatar and the UAE this week, a repeat of his first international tour in 2017, which also began in Riyadh.
