Trump said he was “satisfied” with the Senate’s proposed bill

US President Donald Trump said that Republicans are working on a bill that would impose sanctions on any country that does business with Russia, Bloomberg reports .
“Republicans are introducing a bill that would have very tough sanctions and so on against any country that does business with Russia,” Trump told reporters.
Commenting on this initiative, Trump emphasized that the Senate’s proposed bill “satisfies him,” which was his clearest indication yet that the US president would support efforts to cut off Moscow’s funding.
“They can add Iran to that list,” Trump stressed.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune said in October that he was ready to bring to a vote a bill on sanctions against Russia, long promoted by Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, but did not want to “set a hard deadline for himself.”
The bill would allow Trump to impose tariffs of up to 500% on imports from countries that buy Russian energy. This especially applies to large consumers of Russian energy, such as China and India.
US sanctions against Russia
As UNIAN reported, in October the Trump administration imposed its first sanctions against Russia . The two largest oil producing companies in Russia, Lukoil and Rosneft, as well as their subsidiaries, were hit.
Oil exports from Russia have plummeted , and key buyers of Russian oil – India and China – are canceling previous orders.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio previously said that Washington had effectively reached the limit in imposing new sanctions against Russia . He added that instead of new restrictions, the US would focus on enforcing existing sanctions, in particular in combating the so-called “shadow fleet” that Moscow uses to circumvent oil restrictions.

Great news for Ukraine if they get it done!
First we’ll finish all of Putler’s allies then Putler himself. Iran already got shaved – next: Venezuela. 😎
The word “if” is small, but has a great impact. For my part, I will say “yay” only when it comes to pass, but sans exceptions like his last sanctions.
The bill has been prepared since April. There is no need to prepare anything, just stop the BS and get the bill implemented now.
“He added that instead of new restrictions, the US would focus on enforcing existing sanctions, in particular in combating the so-called “shadow fleet” that Moscow uses to circumvent oil restrictions.”
More BS from Rubio. In March of this year the US vetoed a G7 proposal to combat Russia’s shadow fleet of oil tankers.
