Trump announces new round of US-Russia talks in Saudi Arabia

A new round of US-Russian talks in Saudi Arabia will take place on Tuesday, February 25. This was announced by US President Donald Trump , Sky News reports .

Speaking at the swearing-in of his new trade minister, he assured that he wanted to see a ceasefire and an agreement between the parties.

“I think President Putin and President Zelensky should meet together because we want to stop the killing of millions of people and young soldiers… I think we have a chance to reach an agreement,” the politician noted.

Trump repeated his claim that Russia wants a deal, saying talks between Washington and Moscow would begin Tuesday in Saudi Arabia.

The US President also assured that the agreement on mineral resources with Ukraine is close to being signed. He added:

“Ukraine either signs a mineral agreement with the US, or Kyiv will have problems.”

According to him, he hopes to reach an agreement “in the short term” on Kyiv’s obligations regarding compensation to the United States in the amount of $400-500 billion.
