US leader Donald Trump has said he plans to lift sanctions against Syria after the overthrow of the Bashar Assad regime.
He said this during a speech at an investment forum in Saudi Arabia, CNN reports, Censor.NET informs .
“I will order the end of sanctions against Syria to give them a chance for greatness. The sanctions were brutal and destructive, and yet at the time they served an important – truly important – function. But now their time is up. Good luck, Syria! Show us something special,” the head of the White House said.
Trump said that he made the above-mentioned decision after discussing the situation in Syria with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
