Donald Trump made a bold declaration on Tuesday that SNAP benefits would be withheld throughout the entirety of the government shutdown so that people would be mad at Democrats. This statement is in direct defiance of two separate court orders for the administration to release the SNAP contingency funds that they have readily available. Trump is willing to not only break the law, but to let people starve in order to “own” the Democrats. Farron Cousins explains what’s happening.
