Trump announced “customs” talks with China – Beijing denies everything

The PRC is asked to stop creating confusion.

United States President Donald Trump has said he is in talks with China over tariffs , a claim Beijing denies.

In an interview with TIME magazine , the American leader said that Chinese President Xi Jinping called him and that their administrations are actively negotiating certain agreements. He expects them to be announced within three to four weeks:

“I don’t think this is a sign of weakness on his (Xi, – UNIAN) part. There is a certain amount (of money, – UNIAN) that they will feel comfortable with. But we can’t let them make a trillion dollars off of us.”

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Beijing and Washington are not holding any consultations or negotiations on tariffs. “The US should stop creating confusion,” he stressed.
