The talks between the two leaders in the Oval Office of the White House lasted just over an hour.

Trump’s next meeting is scheduled with Benjamin Netanyahu.

The White House reports that the meeting began at 4:47 p.m. Kyiv time. It is a “closed meeting,” meaning journalists are unlikely to see the leaders together in the Oval Office.

As The Guardian reported, the meeting was expected to be much friendlier than last year’s, when Trump openly criticized Zelensky and said, “You don’t have any cards in your hand.” The administration and right-wing figures have recently shown a shift in attitude toward Ukraine, and Trump and Zelensky held a friendly meeting at the NATO summit earlier this month.

The Trump administration now appears to be providing Ukraine with more support than at any time during his second term. And Laura Loomer, a right-wing figure and Trump ally, met with Zelensky last week.

    • No matter what, Ukraine must cause maximum destruction in ruSSia 24/7. Constantly begging for help is pointless.
