Attendees are hiding under tables and the ballroom’s doors were closed
Donald Trump was evacuated from the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner after gunshots were heard inside the Washington Hilton.
The president was ushered away from the dais on Saturday evening, and attendees took cover under tables in the ballroom.
A shooter has been confirmed as dead.
A number of top administration officials were in attendance, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Trump was seated on the dais when shots were heard.

No one was killed in the shooting incident. The suspect, identified as Cole Allen, was taken into custody.
A Secret Service agent was struck in the chest, but his armored vest prevented fatal injury, and he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
