US President Donald Trump may meet with Kremlin ruler Putin in Saudi Arabia before the end of February.
According to Newsweek, officials from the United States, Ukraine, and the Russian Federation will meet this week to “finish the details.” The last time Trump and Putin met was in 2019, on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Japan.
Alexander Gabuev, director of the Carnegie Eurasia Center, told CNN that he would not be surprised if the meeting took place before the end of the month. He noted that this approach to negotiations is not traditional for American foreign policy, when leaders simply give their blessing to previously agreed-upon issues:
“This time the Russians are very keen for the meeting to take place without a script, within the very broad framework that was agreed upon, and they think that’s what President Trump wants too.”

By the way, my point was, there is a big difference between “to meet” and “may meet”. I’m surprised more people aren’t offended when led by the nose by the US media.

If you intended to insult me by saying he is my hero then you succeeded. You should know I have been critical yet hopeful. As should everyone be. I supported Obama and even Biden, usually, when it came to Ukraine. Ukrainians don’t get to pick the US president but they’ve always remained hopeful with them. As have I. Yet the insults keep coming I guess that is the price of loving Ukraine, some people even put politics before her. No wonder our readership is down, which also means support for Ukraine is down.

The Newsweek headline said “may meet”, which was consistent with the article text saying “may meet”. The discrepancy that you pointed out seems to be a result of Unian’s paraphrasing of the original Newsweek headline.
