Trump Allies Introduce Bill to Authorize Purchase of Greenland, – Media

Allies of newly elected US President Donald Trump in the House of Representatives have introduced a bill to authorize the purchase of Greenland .

As reported by Fox News , the project, called “Make Greenland Great Again,” was headed by Republican Andy Ogles, and supported by 10 other Republican colleagues. The document allows the new president to begin negotiations on the purchase of Greenland with Denmark immediately after the inauguration:

“American economic and security interests will no longer take a back seat, and House Republicans stand ready to help President Trump succeed on behalf of the American people.”

It is noted that such a purchase would require the allocation of funds by the House of Representatives and approval by the US Senate.

Trump’s Claims to Greenland

Let us recall that the recently elected president directly stated that Denmark should give up Greenland , since the United States needs it.

Denmark announced that it was not for sale and also changed the royal coat of arms , adding images symbolizing Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

At the same time, Denmark says that it wants to maintain relations with the American side and considers it necessary for Washington to have more influence in the region than Russia.
