The former US Presidential Security Advisor explained why Trump’s invitation is beneficial to the Russian dictator.
The upcoming summit in Alaska, which will feature US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, is not going well for Ukraine, former US President Donald Trump National Security Adviser John Bolton wrote in a column for the British newspaper The Telegraph , mentioning Trump’s intentions to promise Putin a piece of Ukrainian territory.
“Moscow will probably end this war with 20 percent of Ukraine under its control. If anyone needed proof that Trump is not a strategist in international affairs but a free electron, the past week has settled the matter,” he wrote.
Bolton noted that the invitation to American soil is already a victory for Putin – it takes him out of his pariah status. Bolton added that Putin will try to turn Trump into his tool, using the means of conducting dialogue from the intelligence services. According to Bolton, it was Putin who proposed the idea of the summit, and Trump immediately agreed to it.
“The temptation to be the center of enormous media attention is fatal for Trump,” the former adviser wrote.
“It appears Trump and Putin are preparing to present Zelensky with a fait accompli after their meeting in Alaska. Trump said on Friday that Zelensky would have to lift Ukraine’s constitutional ban on transferring territory to another country,” he continues.
That is why Zelensky’s first reaction was to publicly deny the idea of handing over the territories. But, according to Bolton, even in this situation, this played into Putin’s hands: he can look like a real seeker of peace, in contrast to the Ukrainian president.
Bolton called on Ukraine’s European allies to intervene in the situation while there is still time.

Bolton is another that underestimates Ukraine. They will never bow to dictators from either country.

Agreed. putler is only going for the photo-op and once that is finished he will just spout lies about “one nation” and “root causes”….
