Trukhanov’s passport shown to SSU belongs to another person – The Insider

Russian outlet The Insider has published an investigation into the russian passport of Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov, which was earlier reported by investigative journalist Khrysto Grozyev about the passport of the mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov.

The investigation says that Trukhanov’s passport, which was shown by the Security Service of Ukraine the day before, belongs to a completely different person.

Journalists found out that such a document does exist, it was issued on November 2, 2010, and not on December 15, 2015, as stated by the SSU. In addition, the passport was issued not to Trukhanov, but to a russian citizen named Tatiana.

In addition, the journalists noted, the name Hennadii is spelled incorrectly in the photo of the document published by the SSU. When transliterated into Latin, it should also have two letters “n.”

The Insider also found out that Trukhanov had two russian passports. According to databases, the first was issued on April 15, 2003 and then lost. The second document was issued on March 24, 2011 “to replace the lost one.”

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday, October 14, Suspilne TV channel reported, citing its sources, that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy deprived Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov of his citizenship. The reason for this was the confirmation of information about Trukhanov’s russian passport.

In addition, Zelenskyy deprived former member of the banned Party of Regions Oleh Tsariov and former Ukrainian ballet dancer Serhii Polunin of their citizenship.

Later, the Security Service of Ukraine published a number of documents, including a photo of Trukhanov’s russian passport. The image shows that the passport was issued on December 15, 2015 and is valid for 10 years.

Trukhanov himself denied the information about his russian passport. He announced his intention to file a lawsuit in a Ukrainian court, and if it does not help, to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
