Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov urges his subordinates to carefully study the territorial defense program and not to go on vacation.
“I ask everyone to study the program for the development of territorial defense. Meticulously and accurately carry out each item. I won’t read. I think you yourself are able to do this,” the mayor said at today’s operational meeting in the municipality.

In addition, civil defense facilities continue to be put in order in the city, he assured. However, it is still impossible to say that it will really be safe in them.
“There is a room, put a tick. People need to be there for 48 hours (the maximum time), but in two hours it will be impossible to breathe there due to the fact that the ventilation system does not work,” Trukhanov said.
The ventilation systems were inherited from the USSR and have not been updated since then. Water and sewerage were brought to the shelters belonging to the city. Garbage was taken out from there and equipped to receive people, but this is not enough.
“Speaking frankly and frankly, this is a fiction. There are premises, they are listed. There are 353 such objects in the city, 85 of them are communal property, we put them in order. All other premises – we could only go in and give our recommendations. I’m not sure that they were practiced,” the mayor said.
In educational institutions, special attention will be paid to basements. This is where children and adults can hide.
Of the 87 objects owned by condominiums, specialists were able to inspect only 40. More than half simply did not make contact with officials and did not let them in.
They also plan to use dual-use facilities as shelters, which perform their usual functions in peacetime, but turn into protective structures if necessary. For example, parking lots.
According to the decision of the Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations, all shelters must be opened for inspection by the Department of Mundane Security, rescuers or police, including dual-use facilities. There are two months to check whether these premises are ready to receive people and eliminate all shortcomings.
The installation of loudspeakers is also ongoing in the city, the mayor reported. Such an alert system will continue to work if there are problems with communication or the Internet in the city.
Trukhanov complained that he could not go on a business trip to Istanbul, where the European Muay Thai Championship is being held, and urged his subordinates not to leave Ukraine and not go on vacation.
In addition, albeit remotely, in all classes there should be a lesson “I am an Odessa citizen, a patriot of Ukraine.”

I hope the invasion will be prevented. I love the barbecue joints near the beach, but any other forms of barbecueing are not very digestive.
