The rhetoric of Medvedchuk, as a close associate of Putin, speaks of the Kremlin’s unwillingness to negotiate an end to the war and directly reflects its plans for the neighboring country.

Traitor of Ukraine, godfather of Russian dictator Putin and former head of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party Viktor Medvedchuk denied Ukraine’s sovereignty and directly called for its annexation.

This was noted in a recent report by analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). They noted that Medvedchuk wrote an article in which he called on his godfather to “return his historical lands” and even added a map where all Ukrainian territories to the east of the Lviv, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions are designated as part of “historical Russia.”

The traitor called Ukraine’s independence a “historical mistake” that must be corrected through Russian occupation. He also expressed the opinion that Western support for Kyiv is aimed at destroying the Russian Federation from within, and considers Ukrainian citizens to be “modern barbarians” that Putin must “save.”

The Institute’s analysts emphasized that Medvedchuk’s statements directly reflect the Kremlin’s strategic policy towards Ukraine. “The rhetoric of Medvedchuk, as a representative of the Russian elite closely connected to Putin, speaks of the Kremlin’s unwillingness to negotiate with Ukraine and the West and its fundamental refusal to recognize the legitimacy of the Ukrainian state,” the analysts explained the words of the traitor to Ukraine.
