Timothy Snyder: Trump has made Ukraine war ‘longer and worse’

Timothy Snyder joins MSNBC’s Ali Velshi to discuss the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska, where Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met face-to-face for the first time since Putin’s invasion of Ukraine began. Snyder says, “inviting an indicted war criminal inside your military base and in your personal limousine is not a signal you want the war to end.”

  1. The US badly need someone like Snyder on the table when meeting the mafia clan. Having Witless and other incompetent fools is just wasting a chair.

  2. Ukrainian journalist and lecturer Olena Kozii :

The text is written by my friend, a Ukrainian soldier who volunteered to fight on the very first day of the full-scale genocidal war and is still on the front line.

Direct quote: “To be welcomed in the USA with pomp and fanfare, you must build a totalitarian state, threaten the world with nuclear war, launch attacks and military operations across the globe, seize 24% of a neighboring country, and kill up to 2 million of your own and others’ citizens in a senseless slaughter. Pure madness. Pure trash…”

In contrast, let’s recall how the President of Ukraine was received in the Oval Office. History records…

So surreal. American military roll out the red carpet for Russian, the tyrant and murderer of millions. Well, that is the business of the United States and its people. They will live with it. ‘Make America Great Again’…

Neither America nor Russia will dictate to Ukraine what to do with our future. You are taking far too much upon yourselves. Ukrainians will fight to our last breath. The decision is ours, not your Trump’s and certainly not the killer Putin’s. Better to die with honor for values, freedom, truth, and democracy than crawl before tyranny like jesters in disgrace. Слава Україні!
