Three countries are interested in the domestic RK-360MC anti-ship missile system “Neptune”.
This was stated in an interview with “News” by the General Designer of CB “LUCH” Oleg Petrovich Korostelov, reports the National Industrial Portal with reference to the Military .
Negotiations on the acquisition are underway at various stages.
The biggest progress is now with Indonesia, which has signed a Memorandum on the conclusion of a contract for the supply of coastal mobile missile system RK-360MTs “Neptune” from the State Committee “LUCH”.
“So. Indonesia continues negotiations, they are interested in our “Neptune”. There are two more countries, but negotiations with them are still a very raw start, and it is too early to talk about it, ”Korostelov said.
Thus, Indonesia may become the first foreign buyer of Neptune, which on August 23, 2020 was adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
However, from the beginning of negotiations to the conclusion of the agreement and procurement may take more than one year, as previously explained by the General Designer “the customer looks closely, requires guarantees, wants to look at test results in their country, because in some – hot, in others, on the contrary – low temperatures ».
In general, more concrete actions can be expected from foreign customers after the supply of the first Neptune complexes to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Only then, after gaining valuable experience in the operation of complexes in real conditions, foreign customers will be able to make a final decision.
