It’s okay if the common Joe Schmuck on the street forgets about history. It’s quite another thing when politicians do so. Many have completely forgotten or ignored the lessons learned about what comes next when you appease a dictator once too much. It brought a terrible war back then, and it brought another terrible war today. You, the guilty ones, may claim having done the things, but inside, you know that you just plain fucked up and acted like a monkey whose playing with a gun. We know who you are. History will not forget you, Obama, Sarkozy, Macron, Merkel, Scholz et al – the culprits who appeased yet another dictator right into another war. This will be the final paragraph of the chapter that deals with your personal accomplishments in a history book dedicated to the 21st century. A black splotch, if you will.
I so hope you’re right. You know what they say, “history is written by the victors”. We need to be victorious.
