The gunman who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump Saturday was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, sources told The Post.
Crooks, of Bethel Park, Pa., squeezed off shots — one of which grazed Trump in the ear — at an outdoor rally in Butler, just outside Pittsburgh.
Sources said Crooks was planted on a roof of a manufacturing plant more than 130 yards away from the stage at Butler Farm Show grounds.
He was killed by Secret Service snipers. An AR-style rifle was later recovered.
Bethel Park is a village 40 miles south of where the Butler rally was held.
Why Crooks fired on the presumptive Republican presidential nominee is unclear.

He didn’t donate to ActBlue. ActBlue is a clearing house for all kinds of fund-raising – including non-political stuff like raising money for hurricane relief. What he specifically donated to was the Progressive Turnout Project, a voter turnout group.

It appears the special services shot him just as he was taking aim, maybe it was pure luck that kept Trump alive, or the sniper was blind.

I just read that, in an odd twist, ABC reporting said the shooter wasn’t allowed to be a part of his high school shooting team because he was such a bad shot and not safe. (This is according to a former classmate.)
Butler not really “just outside” Pittsburg; it’s 33 miles / 55 kilometers north and about 50 minute drive on non-interstate roads.
VERY SAD for this father, husband killed by senseless act because of political differences.

Oh – 5 months ago, Alex Jones and InfoWars guest Ivan Raiklin discussed how assassinating Trump would be beneficial, according to them, because it would lead to retaliatory “in kind” assassinations of a “deep state” list which includes President Joe Biden.

This is the US, not Russia or a third world country. Supporting political assassination indicates YOU are the real threat to democracy, let alone to human decency and the rule of law. The only one inciting violence in the US since 2016 is the democratic party and the its corporate media propaganda arm.
