The Russian presidential aide added that some foreign guests have expressed a desire to visit Moscow on May 9.

This year, Russia did not specifically invite foreign guests to participate in the May 9 parade , said Yuri Ushakov, an aide to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports .

“This year we did not send out special invitations. Some foreign figures expressed their desire to visit Moscow during these days and participate together with our leadership in relevant events on May 9,” he said.

The Kremlin website has published a list of guests who will take part in this year’s parade:

  • The self-proclaimed president of the breakaway region of Abkhazia, which is under the influence of the Russian Federation, Badra Gunba;
  • Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko;
  • Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith;
  • The ruler of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim;
  • Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico;
  • “President” of the self-proclaimed South Ossetia (Georgia) Alan Gagloev;
  • President of the Republika Srpska Sinisa Karan.

Ushakov said that Lukashenko will be the first foreign guest to arrive in Moscow. He and the Kremlin leader are scheduled to have a “friendly dinner” on May 8.

According to reports, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will fly 4 hours to Moscow via a roundabout route – via the Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden and Finland.

“On May 9, at around 9:45, a ceremony of official welcoming of foreign guests will take place; together with foreign representatives and veterans, the president will lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier; a ceremonial reception for heads of foreign states and invited guests will be held in the Kremlin,” Ushakov said.

  1. “the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier”?… lets fix it. “the Tomb of the Unknown Division”.

  2. Is this a fancy way of saying that nobody was interested in our pathetic show of weakness?
