Last year, the losses of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were reduced by 13% . Despite this, 2025 became a serious test for the Ukrainian army.
This was announced on Facebook by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky. According to him, despite the efforts of the occupiers, the Defense Forces did not allow the occupiers to make critical breakthroughs.
He emphasized that thanks to the effective combat work of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they were able to systematically exhaust the occupiers and prevent them from building up their own forces.
“Thanks to the effective combat work of the Defense Forces, the enemy has not been able to increase its grouping for a long time – after all, every month we are destroying more Russian military personnel than the aggressor country calls up. At the same time, during 2025, we managed to reduce the number of our own personnel losses by 13%,” the Commander-in-Chief noted.
In addition, the defenders managed to hold strategic positions and create a basis for further actions.
“This year has proven: we are capable of systematically exhausting the enemy and significantly reducing its potential. The defense forces prevented the aggressor from implementing his plans, preserved strategic positions, and prepared the basis for further actions,” the post says.
As OBOZ.UA reported, the commander-in-chief previously stated that the Ukrainian army will change the requirements for conducting basic combined arms training . The School of Instructors of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will also be strengthened , and the focus in training will be on quality, not quantity.
Oleksandr Syrsky also held a meeting on the development of defense lines. The general emphasized that in 2025 the state of engineering equipment and anti-drone defense had significantly improved.
