Britain just shipped the first Sheffield-forged artillery barrels to Ukraine, the first the UK has produced in nearly twenty years, after Britain let its forging capability go dark believing the post-Soviet peace was permanent. There are 146 more barrels planned.

The Luftwaffe bombed Sheffield twice in 1940 because they understood a forge city wins wars.
