Professor Snyder is spot on as always. ruZZia doesn’t need de-escalation, doesn’t need negotiations, doesn’t need a political counter-balance, doesn’t need NATO off their “door step”, doesn’t need a reset button, doesn’t need understanding or moderation, ruZZia needs total and complete annihilation to the point that they would change their name again. Only Ukraine can provide this annihilation.
How do you get such depraved savages to a) acknowledge that they are fascists and b) to embrace liberal democracy?
First : defeat in Ukraine.
Second : enforce the type of sanctions that will have Russian peasants starving and oligarchs penniless.
Well, I suggest the WWII strategy: Kill the vast majority of the depraved savages, make the life of the others miserable, so that they’re actually happy to live in peace instead!

Indeed, when current policy is unsustainable, a violent shakeup can create a path to a better future. That’s true for Russia and imho for Israel, too. Because neverending wars can’t create peace and prosperity! 🖖🤨☮
