It doesn’t surprise me in he least that Dmitry Medvedev — former one-term President of Russia (2008-2012), current Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, and super-scary nuke-happy whack job to end all whack jobs — would urge Donald Trump to instruct his “military chief”(presumably Pete Hegseth) and CIA director (John Ratcliffe) to “deal with” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Nor was it unusual for Medvedev to state that the “method, place and way do not matter.” [Ukraine News, October 25, 2026.]

He is, after all, well known for his tendency to issue statements that, if acted upon, would almost surely lead to the nuclear destruction of our planet. Luckily, no one seems to have taken him seriously . . . yet.

Dmitry Medvedev

But what is even more frightening is that this latest exhortation, framed in language that leaves it wide open to interpretation, is addressed personally to a man in obvious mental decline, who has the power to do almost anything, is already “dealing with” Zelensky by withdrawing support and siding with the enemy, has proven himself vulnerable to suggestion from whatever person he listened to last, and would do anything to please Medvedev’s boss, Vladimir Putin.

The language used — “method, place and way do not matter” — does not sound like a suggestion to undertake diplomatic discussions, offer fatherly advice, or even resort to threats of ending all U.S. aid.

It sounds like the language of a mob boss ordering a hit.

We already know what Trump and his henchmen are capable of: blasting fishing boats out of international waters, kidnapping the president of Venezuela, starting a war with Iran . . . even sending his armed, masked goon squad to attack, arrest, and sometimes to kill innocent Americans in our own cities. In his addled view, what is one more life, if taking it would end the war in favor of his good friend in the Kremlin?

To suggest that Medvedev should be gagged and removed from any position of authority or influence in Russia would be both obvious and futile. But what can and must be done is to keep that kind of talk away from Donald Trump.

He already has far too many madmen whispering sweet nothings in his ear.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

Just sayin’ . . .

It’s amazing that MAGA labels every election result is doesn’t like as “stolen” or an example of “fraud “, but when Putin “wins” almost 90% of the vote in his crooked elections, they don’t make a peep.

  3. Mykhailo Rohoza (from the ZSU) :

“Russia doesn’t want war. Ukraine is the one that wants to fight,” — Putin.

“Russia is ready for negotiations over Ukraine, especially since Russians and Ukrainians are one people,” — Putin.

“Recent genetic studies show that Russians and Ukrainians are one people,” — Putin.

George Orwell, what the fuck are you doing? Stop spinning in your grave!

We still have to hear these very same words in English from an old, dementia-ridden orange pumpkin who has confused being President of the United States with hosting a propaganda show on Russian state television.

NEWS: Democratic turnout is surging nationwide, higher than we’ve seen in a long time, sending fears throughout GOP circles.

Hegseth is fearing impeachment, seeking a new job.

  5. Phillips P. OBrien :

Even though Trump caved in to great pressure over Starlink/Starshield, it doesn’t change the basic fact that the US is more and more an open ally of Russia. The US is still refusing to deliver purchased Patriot missiles, buying Russian diesel, has neutered Graham-Blumenthal, and there is more…

  6. Roman Sheremeta just now :

“Humanitarian” russians hit a university, a medical facility, and a bridge in Kyiv.

One person was killed and 14 were injured. Most of those injured are students.

The attack was sponsored by Trump and his supporters.

  7. Shaun Pinner :

A UN inquiry finds Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Last week, I filmed one such attack on Dnipro’s power station as “Putin” and “humanitarian” were mentioned in the same sentence. I can’t share the footage because of restrictions on filming energy infrastructure.

    Let that sink in though

Russia is still doing this, while the Trump administration praises Putin’s “humanitarian” efforts.

  8. The brilliant Cemil Kerimoglu, incisive as ever :

SpaceX and Starlink must be nationalized. There is no way around it. Such critical infrastructure cannot be left in the hands of a private individual, let alone a morally depraved ketamine-addicted scumbag.

  9. Mikhail Khodorkovsky :

Do not count on a democratic Russia after Putin; that is ruled out for about 20 years. The goal should be a Russia that is not aggressive toward its neighbors, and Europe can help. What Russia certainly needs is decentralized power: more parliamentarism, more federalism.

    • That is a dramatic change of tack for one of the leading exiled opposition leaders.
Previously he and Garry had suggested that there was a path to democracy in the cauldron of devilry.

  10. Joni Askola :

Every time Trump, Musk, or Putin attack and try to delegitimize Zelensky, his approval rating in Ukraine goes up.

  11. Roman Sheremeta :

Trump is selling out Ukraine. His goal is to undermine Ukraine’s capabilities and give russia a decisive advantage in the war.

A new Reuters investigation reveals troubling details about the Trump administration’s treatment of Ukraine.

Trump has repeatedly demanded that Ukraine stop attacking russian oil refineries – one of the few effective ways Ukraine can undermine russia’s ability to finance its war.

According to President Zelenskyy, American officials threatened to cut off intelligence sharing if Ukraine continued these strikes. A U.S. official disputes this account.

Trump has authorized russian diesel sales on international markets and waived certain sanctions, potentially providing Moscow with additional revenue.

Reuters also reports that Trump has cultivated a relationship with Putin that departs from traditional U.S. foreign policy.

Suriya Jayanti, a former U.S. official and Atlantic Council senior fellow, offered a particularly disturbing interpretation of these developments: the objective is not a genuine energy ceasefire, but to weaken Ukraine and give russia a decisive military advantage.

    Think about what is happening.

Russia continues attacking Ukrainian cities, destroying energy infrastructure, and killing civilians.

Meanwhile, the American administration is pressuring Ukraine to stop attacking the infrastructure that helps finance russia’s war.

Ukraine is being pressured to restrain itself while its aggressor continues its attacks.

The fundamental question is no longer simply whether Trump can negotiate peace. It is whether his administration’s actions are making Ukraine weaker and russia stronger.

And the evidence reported by Reuters gives us serious reasons to ask that question.

  12. “an old, dementia-ridden orange pumpkin who has confused being President of the United States with hosting a propaganda show on Russian state television.”

    Very well said Mykhailo Rohoza.
That is the very bitter truth for Ukraine.

  13. America is an immensely powerful nation.
Eventually Ukraine will be forced to concede.
Unless the putler-rimmers currently in charge are forced out by the American people.
