The People’s Deputy revealed little-known facts about the reasons for the shortage of personnel in the army.
The shortage of personnel remains one of the biggest problems of the Defense Forces. However, it seems that the insufficient pace of mobilization is caused, among other things, by some “absurd” situations. This was stated by the People’s Deputy, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Roman Kostenko .
He said that once, at a meeting of a committee in the Verkhovna Rada, the problem of more than a million Ukrainian men still not registering for military service or updating their registration data was discussed. When asked by deputies whether these people were notified by summons, there was an unexpected answer: “Not all of them. Because there was no money for envelopes.”
“Do you understand? There was no money for envelopes to notify people. This is absurd!” – the MP is indignant.
