It is noteworthy that the head of the White House has not yet reacted to Putin’s “Easter truce”

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has declared an “Easter  truce ” to look better in the eyes of US President Donald Trump.

This is how experts assessed the initiative of the Kremlin ruler.

“I don’t see this as a serious indication that Putin is ready for peace,” said Eric Chiaramella, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, according to the Washington Post .

“This is clearly a maneuver to keep Trump in favor. If Putin were serious, he would accept a longer ceasefire, which the Ukrainians have already agreed to,” Chiaramella pointed out.

At the same time, a Russian scientist, who spoke to the publication on condition of anonymity, suggested that Putin’s statement about the “Easter truce” came at a moment when “the Russian leadership understood that it needed to make some kind of gesture to throw the ball into the other side’s court.”
