The Ukrainian Defense Forces have launched successful strikes on the Russian border. Our military has successfully penetrated the enemy’s air defenses.
The fact of the attack, which took place the day before, on July 20, was
confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular,
the S-300P air defense system, the Nebo-M radar, and the 5N66M Big Bird radar in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation were hit.
“On July 20, a number of successful strikes were carried out against the enemy in various locations, continuing to focus efforts on weakening the military potential of the Russian Federation. Long-range firepower successfully hit the Russian S-300P anti-aircraft missile system in the Belgorod region, which significantly reduced the coverage area of Russian long-range air defense in the region,” the report says.
It is also noted that in the same area, our troops struck the “Nebo-M” radar complex, which critically affected its functionality and simultaneously reduced the operational capabilities of the neighboring 5N66M Big Bird radar station.
The General Staff emphasizes that such coordinated strikes significantly weaken the Russian air defense system, reducing the enemy’s ability to cover its troops and infrastructure, and facilitating operations by Ukrainian units.
In addition, weakening these systems directly supports our efforts to reduce the Russian Federation’s ability to wage aggressive war and attack the civilian population and civilian infrastructure of our country.
“Such strikes directly undermine the Russian Federation’s ability to demonstrate force, cover its troops, and support the illegal occupation of Ukrainian territory,” the military noted.
The Defense Forces will continue to conduct operations to disrupt critical enemy systems that support the functioning of the Russian military machine.
The General Staff emphasizes that Ukraine will continue to strike until the occupiers stop their invasion.
“Until the territorial integrity of Ukraine is restored and a just and lasting peace is established. Glory to Ukraine!” – summed up the successful operation in the General Staff.
Recall that during the battles on the front last day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated and wounded about 1,170 invaders from the Russian Federation. They also neutralized 398 units of their military equipment and weapons.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, since the beginning of 2025, the Russian occupation army has been losing an average of 1,251 servicemen per day (including those killed and wounded).
In addition, statistics show that since the Russian full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, fighters of the SBU units alone have already hit 2,000 enemy tanks . That is, every sixth tank knocked out by the defenders of Ukraine during this time is the result of the work of the SBU.
