Orban is confident that the Georgian people made the right choice by voting for the victory of the Georgian Dream party.

Viktor Orban congratulated the Georgian Dream party on its election victory. In his address, the Hungarian prime minister thanked the country’s government for “not turning it into a second Ukraine,”  SOVA reports .

At a press conference in Tbilisi, Orban said the Georgian people had made the right decision by voting for the Georgian Dream party to win. He noted that the Georgian government did not want to drag the country into the “senseless war” that is going on in Ukraine.

“I would like to congratulate you on the fact that, in the context of striving for European integration, you have not allowed your country to be turned into a second Ukraine. I am personally convinced that by the end of the decade, Georgia will really be ready, in its best form, to become an EU member state,” said the Hungarian Prime Minister.

Hungary knows what war is, but it also knows what peace is, Orban stressed. He added that his country positively evaluates Georgia’s attempts to achieve peace.

“That is why we understand the choice of the Georgian people in favor of peace. And in Hungary it is the same. I state clearly: the Georgian people made a choice in favor of peace. The people made a European choice,” Orban shared.
