In the seventh month of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko explained his cynical congratulations on Ukraine’s Independence Day.

“They have nothing bad. They are not ‘Natsiks’. ‘Natsiks’ are those who are on top, from smokers, sniffers, drinkers… And the people are good. These are our people. Therefore, I considered it necessary, as always, to congratulate the Ukrainian people,” said the self-proclaimed president, who is giving Russia his territories to launch missiles at Ukrainian cities.
Lukashenka also said that “the roots of his great-great-grandfathers are buried somewhere between Chernigov and Kyiv.”
“The surname speaks for itself. Thank God that it has been preserved. As for the state, these are our neighbors. They are not chosen, I often said. This is from the Lord God.
