07/18/2026

President Volodymyr Zelensky and former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov held talks. Following the dialogue, the head of state announced that decisions regarding the army had been made and added that he had heard the position of the Ukrainians.

He said this in his video address on July 18. Fedorov himself also commented on the conversation with the president.

“Yesterday and today there were many consultations. Of course, I hear what people are saying. I spoke for a long time today with Mykhailo Fedorov, I also spoke today with Oleksandr Syrsky. Decisions regarding the army will be worked out,” Zelenskyy stressed.

In turn, the former Minister of Defense also reported on communications with the president, emphasizing that “there will definitely be changes.”

“You thanked me for Mriya and Diya. From myself, I thank you for the hope. I have not felt such responsibility even in government positions. Thank you to the veterans and military for keeping the front and honor. There is dialogue. I believe that everything will work out,” he wrote.

Other statements by Zelensky

In his evening video address, the President thanked the Ukrainian defenders for the successful strikes on enemy targets. He emphasized that on the night of July 18, the Defense Forces achieved significant results thanks to long-range weapons of destruction, and assured that Ukraine will continue to inflict a fair response on Russia for its aggression and attacks on Ukrainian civilian and critical infrastructure.

“Today there are defeats near Moscow, also in the Tambov region – these are Russian logistics, in particular, warehouses through which means of war were supplied: navigation equipment, components for the production of drones and other supplies for the Russian army. Also, our Ukrainian weapons reached another oil facility and targets in the waters of the Azov and Black Seas. Our operation is important. There will be more. There will be more means for middle strikes. The long-range sanctions plan is also being implemented quite rhythmically,” the head of state said.
