Russia must understand that if it threatens blackouts in Kyiv, it will receive a blackout in Moscow. Ukraine will not be weak and will respond to Russian attacks on the energy sector.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on September 27.

Zelensky recommended that Russians study the differences between civilized countries and weak countries.

“Russia must clearly understand that civilized countries differ from savage ones in that they never initiate conflict and are not aggressors. But this does not mean they are weak. And there is no need to show weakness,” he noted.

Zelenskyy also promised that in response to blackout threats in Kyiv, Russians could order blackouts in Moscow. He made it clear that US President Donald Trump fully supports him on this matter.

“If they threaten a blackout, for example, in the Ukrainian capital, then the Kremlin should know there will be a blackout in the Russian capital. This, in short, covers various points we discussed with the president,” the Ukrainian leader noted.

The threat of attacks on the energy sector: what is known

For three years in a row, since the fall of 2022, Russian occupiers have been attempting to attack the Ukrainian power grid ahead of the heating season. The Russians are carrying out their terrorist attacks in the hopes of triggering a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

Despite massive attacks on generation, distribution, gas, and heating infrastructure, all of the occupiers’ plans have so far been thwarted: the Ukrainian energy system has survived and is being restored. Moreover, Ukraine has begun to respond to the attacks on the energy sector .

Attacks on the energy sector are likely to resume this fall. Naftogaz CEO Serhiy Koretsky believes Russia will launch massive attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities before the heating season and into winter. The Center for Countering Disinformation also reports this: Russian dictator-liar Vladimir Putin is already preparing a so-called “information alibi” for this.

At the same time, Ukraine will strike back and cut off Russian energy supplies, President Zelenskyy stated. The Ukrainian leader added that his position is shared and supported by US President Donald Trump.
