The self-appointed president is confident that the Americans are labeling him as a dictator.

Protests could flare up in Belarus again this winter in connection with new presidential elections . If this happens, the authorities will turn off the Internet in the country. This was stated by the self-proclaimed “president” of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with students .

According to the dictator, his removal from power as a result of the 2020 protests could allegedly lead to war. Lukashenko is sure that the people of Belarus then took to the streets en masse on orders from Poland, and NATO troops were “charged” to invade the country.

“I understood what we could come to. We would have had a war worse than in Ukraine. We would have had it, it would have been tougher. They (NATO troops) would have advanced to Smolensk. What would be the answer? How would Russia react? A war would have started, again on our territory,” Lukashenko said.

The dictator admitted that the next presidential elections in Belarus, scheduled for January 26, 2025, could again provoke protests.

“If this happens again, we will shut down the Internet completely,” he said.

At the same time, Lukashenko assured that there is no dictatorship in Belarus.

“Don’t trust anyone. There is no dictatorship in the country and there can’t be. Because, in order to be a dictator, you must have the levers of dictatorship. Well, what levers of dictatorship do I have? The Americans came up with this – “dictator, dictator,” – he said.
