Ukrainian hackers managed to destroy the IT infrastructure of the Moscow critical infrastructure enterprise Moskollektor. Informed sources reported this to an UNIAN correspondent.

According to sources, this company is responsible for the operation of underground water pipes, communication cables, power cables and heating networks in the capital of the Russian Federation.

In particular, Ukrainian hackers turned off 87 thousand sensors of various warning systems throughout Moscow and the Moscow region. In addition, 70 servers and at least 90 terabytes of company data (emails, backups, contracts) were destroyed.

As sources noted, this was an operation of the hacker group “BLACKJACK”, which is close to the cyber department of the SBU.

“Currently, the work of Moscow’s critical infrastructure facility is completely blocked, the company cannot respond to accidents and emergencies. Restoring its functioning will take from 15 to 30 days. We wish Moscow various man-made disasters these days,” the sources said.

Hackers attack Russia

As UNIAN reported, Ukrainian hackers previously joined in launching cyber attacks on Russian oil refineries. These cyberattacks reinforced successful drone strikes against Russian oil and gas companies. Russian factories also suffer losses due to hacker attacks. At the same time, the Russians are trying to hide the consequences of the attack.

We also told you that an announcement about paid evacuation from the Belgorod region appeared on the website of the Russian Red Cross. Judging by the text, it was hacked.
