The Hungarian Prime Minister criticized the EU for wanting to provide financial assistance to Ukraine.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban gave an interview to the French newspaper Le Point. He accused Europe of “blackmail” and “manipulation” and supported Donald Trump .
The journalist asked the prime minister whether he considered Trump his ally. He replied that he supported the former US President in the 2016 elections and now his position has not changed.
“Then (ed – in 2016) I clearly said that we need Donald Trump in Europe. Because when Trump says: “Let’s make America great again” or “America first”, this legitimizes us to “Make Europe Again” great” and “Europe first”. Put Europe first, put France first, put Hungary first. This is a normal attitude in international politics if we want to reach agreements based on national interests,” Orbán said.
In addition, Orban called Trump one of the most successful presidents of the United States in terms of foreign policy: “My personal conviction remains that if the American president had been called Donald Trump in February 2022, there would not have been a war in Europe. The world has name: Donald Trump.”
