The French president “dealt another blow to Ukraine’s hopes for progress” on the way to membership in the Alliance.
The United States of America and Germany are the main opponents of Ukraine joining NATO . This statement was made by French President Emmanuel Macron on the eve of the Alliance summit in Washington, dedicated to the organization’s 75th anniversary.
The DPA agency writes about it . Macron noted the “strong opposition” of the United States and Germany to Ukraine’s invitation to the Alliance.
“Ultimately, it will be the allies’ decision to invite Ukraine to NATO,” he said.
As noted, the French president “dealt another blow to Ukraine’s hopes for progress.” He also recalled Kyiv’s dissatisfaction with the lack of an invitation to the last NATO summit, which was held in the capital of Lithuania – Vilnius – in 2023.
“The Ukrainians were quite annoyed when they came to the conclusion that the door was opened, but not that much. And I think the scenario for the Washington summit is the same,” Macron said.
NATO summit: what to expect from the event
The US State Department suggested that at the NATO summit in Washington, they may discuss the possibility of shooting down the Russians over Ukraine if they fly towards Poland. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk made such a proposal.
At the same time, US Ambassador to NATO Julianna Smith says that Ukraine will receive positive news at the summit regarding the strengthening of air defense, in particular, regarding the Patriot systems . She urged to follow “specific announcements that will come for Ukraine, for NATO allies, news about defense production, about stability, about cyber security.”

If Macron reminded people that “the USA and Germany are the main opponents of Ukraine joining NATO,” it was not a blow to Ukraine or anybody else–because it has been commoin knowledge for some time now. The real blow to Ukraine is Macron’s loss of power.
I hope they hold a vote on the question of Ukraine’s invitation. This will put the cowards on record so they will be partially responsible the next time Vladolf wants to commit MORE war crimes.
Why is this so difficult, Invite Ukraine in already, show pootin that his plans are backfiring and that he can’t and won’t win this war.
