United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has admitted that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is a war criminal.

This happened during a congressional hearing , where Bessent reported on the situation in the international financial system. When asked directly whether he considered the Russian ruler a war criminal, the American minister replied: “Yes.”
At the same time, when asked whether it was worth negotiating with a war criminal, Bessent replied:
“I think that’s the nature of diplomacy, where you have to negotiate with both sides. I think negotiations were necessary with the Japanese after World War II.”
