As the Turkish president said, “we are going to monitor developments.”

Ukraine’s bid to join NATO is not a matter that is “in a hurry,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told NBC News .

At the same time, according to him, relations between his country and Russia are “expanding.” Speaking on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Erdogan said that the United States and other members of the Western alliance “do not want Ukraine to be a member” of the Alliance:

“These are issues that we should not rush into. And when we discuss, when we make a decision, we always take into account the position of other NATO member states, we discuss these possible issues at the table and accordingly make a final decision.”

According to him, Türkiye will consider the position of other members of the Alliance.

“We are going to follow the developments, the discussions and make a final decision accordingly. This is not a decision to be taken in a hurry. … Our relations with Russia are multidimensional, related to politics, economics, culture, the defense industry. There are many dimensions, and our solidarity, our interaction continues, and economically these relations are expanding every day,” the Turkish leader said.

  1. Erdogan is a firm supporter of the savage and degenerate putler client; Hamas, so nothing he says is worth jack shit.

  2. Clearly, four pricks must first take their hats, or get buried, before Ukraine can even think about getting NATO membership; Biden, Scholz, Orb-anus, and Fuco.
