The ambassador reminded that the goal of President Joe Biden is to help Ukraine defend itself and deter future aggression.

The US ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, said that the United States aims to help Ukraine defend itself, but does not enable or support strikes with its weapons on the territory of Russia.

Answering the questions of journalists during a round table with Isobel Coleman, the deputy head of USAID, how Ukraine can win the war under the conditions when the United States does not allow strikes on Russian territory, Brink noted that this position of Washington remains unchanged since the beginning of the full-scale war, Radio Svoboda writes  .

“But the first part of helping Ukraine to defend itself is to supply our weapons and those of our partners to support the efforts of your brave heroes on the front lines to take back your territories. Our position from the beginning has been that we do not enable or encourage the use of our weapons in Russia , outside the Ukrainian territory,” she said.

At the same time, Brink noted that President Biden’s goal is to help Ukraine defend itself and deter future aggression.

Strikes on Russian refineries

In  Russia, drones of Ukrainian scouts attacked the Ryazan Refinery . It is noted that the shelling took place around three in the morning on May 1. First there was a hum, and then several explosions.

The former commander of the US Army in Europe, General Ben Hodges , said that Ukraine should not pay attention to Washington’s calls not to attack Russian oil refineries with drones. According to him, the Ukrainian military has the right to defend itself and do whatever is necessary

  1. So, the ambassador tried his best to distract from the fact that Joe Biden doesn’t have the spine to strongly oppose Putin. Same old shit (in the pants) as before. 🙄

  2. Oh, btw:
“The average individual European citizen is coughing almost three times (Kyiv Post’s back-of-envelope calculation was 2.795 times) as much to tax collectors to help out Ukraine than their American counterpart.”

Thanks to Stefan Cough… uh, Korshak for debunking that stupid Trump bullshit point!
    😎👍

  3. This just in at Defense Express:

Hey, there must be at least some smart guys at the Pentagon, who understand what’s necessary to win this war! Respect. 😎👍

      • Uh, my pleasure, dear Captain, but I’m afraid Mr. Ofp is right and tjis has to be read as an upgrade for the US Army’s equipment, not the AFU ones. So, more protection for US soldiers, but not for the brave defenders in Ukraine who really need this. Damn, sorry, I really thought that some Pentagon guys had finally understood the importance of delivering state of the art weapons instead of mothballed stuff from the 80s. When will they ever learn? 😖

    • To me, it sounds as if the US is replacing the vehicles it sent to Ukraine with the upgraded ones. This means Ukraine gets/got the old stuff, while the US is getting the new ones.

      • Yeah, you’re right, Mr. Ofp. I shouldn’t comment late at night, when I’m half asleep, indeed, this is about updating the US Army’s vehicles, a reasonable move, but doesn’t help the AFU one bit. Damn. ☹

  4. There is no need to explain anything. Every man, woman, and child on this planet already knows that Joe Biden is a spineless coward. So, Brink and all the others from this sorry-assed administration can spare us with the sugar-coated bullshit.
