The United States stopped supplying Excalibur shells to Ukraine: what is the reason

It was previously reported that the effectiveness of this weapon decreased from 70% to 6.

The United States has stopped supplying Excalibur guided artillery shells to Ukraine after Kiev reported their low effectiveness. The Washington Post writes about this with reference to Ukrainian sources .

About six months ago, Ukraine informed the United States that Russia’s jamming of the guidance systems of several weapons provided by the Americans had undermined its ability to defend its territories. In response, the United States simply stopped further shipments of Excalibur projectiles.

It is reported that the Excalibur and the HIMARS rocket artillery system suffered the most from Russian electronic warfare systems. “The Russians deployed electronic warfare capabilities, turned off satellite signals, and HIMARS became completely ineffective,” a source tells The Washington Post.

In total, experts collected information on the use of about 3 thousand Excalibur shells fired by M777 howitzers. It turned out that at some point only 1 out of 19 shells began to hit the target. Earlier, we recall, UNIAN wrote that the effectiveness of these weapons in Ukraine fell from 70 to 6%.

  1. These NATO guided weapons are often a scam.
They are hella expensive and yet the russians can jam them.
They worked fine against the Taliban, not against a more serious enemy.

I am also worried about American made drones, I strongly doubt they will do well in area’s with advanced EW.
