US President Joe Biden intends today to decide to ban the import of Russian oil, liquefied gas and coal.
This was reported by Bloomberg, citing informed sources.
According to the agency’s interlocutors, the Biden administration is ready to impose a ban on US imports of Russian energy on Tuesday without the participation of its European allies.
The ban will apply to imports of Russian oil, liquefied natural gas and coal, two sources said.
One of the interlocutors added that the decision was made after consultations with European allies, which rely more on Russian energy than the United States.
Russia is the world’s largest exporter of oil and petroleum products, supplying foreign markets with about 7 million barrels per day, which is about 7% of global supplies.
