On the anniversary of the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP by the Russians and against the background of brutal battles on the front in Ukraine, the UN celebrates the “Day of the Russian Language”. The corresponding message is posted on the UN page on the X network .

“The Russian language is one of the six official languages ​​of the UN. Every year on June 6, the UN celebrates the Day of the Russian Language,” the message reads. 

Here, subscribers of the English-language page of the UN are offered to switch to the Russian-language page in order to follow news about the work of the UN in Russian.

The comments under this message are full of angry reactions from social network users.

“UN, what’s next? Hitler Day?” – the user with Finnish and Ukrainian flags next to his nickname is indignant.

Another user attached to his comment a photo of a Ukrainian who returned from Russian captivity – exhausted and emaciated to the state of a “living skeleton”.

“I assume that those who tortured the boy spoke one of the six official languages ​​of the UN,” he wrote under the photo.

Also, many users pointed out that on this day, exactly one year ago, the Russians staged the largest man-made disaster in history after the Chernobyl accident – at the Kakhovskaya HPP.

The war in Ukraine and the activities of the UN

As UNIAN wrote, Ukrainian officials repeatedly criticized the UN for its complete inability to stop Russian aggression in Ukraine. The Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Serhiy Kyslytsia, personally criticized Secretary General António Guterres for his inaction.

It is significant that the UN officially condemned the strike by Ukrainian drones on the “Shakhed” kamikaze drone production plant in Tatarstan in early April.

In fact, the UN officially states Russian war crimes in Ukraine , which is actually important. However, the matter at the UN does not go beyond the recording of crimes.
